Maximise Your Money Opportunities in Rhydyfelin
February 4, 2008
A scheme that provides information and advice on money matters to ensure people get the maximum income is being introduced in Rhydyfelin.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Equality, Diversity and Social Justice Team has joined forces with agencies, including the Rhydyfelin Communities First team, to hold an event in Rhydyfelin Community Centre on 28th February.
The event, which includes free refreshments and activities to keep the young ones entertained, is open to all who want to find out more about money matters and how they can maximise their income.
Open from 1pm to 5pm, it will include experts to offer advice on money management, dealing with debts, applying for benefits, tax discounts and more.
People can also attend the event to collect their free copy of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Managing Your Money booklet, which has proved such a success it is now on its second edition.
Agencies including Job Centre Plus, Citizens Advice Bureau, Interlink, the Genesis project, Coleg Morgannwg and Age Concern will have information stands at the event and Too Good to Waste will also be attending with their discounted furniture on sale.
Cllr Annette Davies, Cabinet member for Equality, said: “The Maximising Opportunities initiative is about helping people to increase their income – and make better use of it – through the services and opportunities that are available to them.
“As well as helping people to ensure they are receiving the money and credits they are entitled to, it is about helping them save, reduce debt, budget and more.”
