Treforest Regeneration Proposals

February 4, 2008

Are you a resident, student, landlord or businessperson in Treforest?

If so, come and have YOUR say on the regeneration of the village.

The Treforest Regeneration Partnership has commissioned specialists from the University of Glamorgan to develop a number of regeneration proposals for the village that seek to:

· Improve traffic management and parking provision for residents.

· Reduce the number of houses of multiple occupation.

· Increase the amount of affordable housing in the area.

· Encourage families and young professionals to move into the area.

· Provide high quality transport links to Cardiff and the Valleys.

· Provide new medical facilities.

· Enhance the on-campus facilities for students.

· Provide a better quality environment throughout the village.

As part of the Partnership’s assessment of the proposals, which will be developed by the Centre for Engineering, Research and Environmental Applications and the University, the views of local people are being sought.

Such consultation is vital before a way forward can be established and the Partnership is keen to see if people support and accept the proposals or if they have ideas on how to improve the village.
