Tower Colliery Photo on Rhondda Cynon Taff Online

Jan Lane’s photo taken at Tower Colliery on their very last day featured as Rhondda Cynon Taff Online’s headline photo for the end of January until the end of February 2008.
Jan Lane took some excellent photos of the final day of Tower Colliery, spending hours braving the cold and windswept Rhigos mountain to capture images of that special morning on Friday 25th January 2008.
Her photos captured the spirit and strength of the community that made Tower Colliery a success and a world-famous story. It was a poignant last day, but a wake, not a funeral… to borrow the words of Tyrone O’Sullivan, the Colliery Chairman.
