Major Rhondda Cynon Taff Road Reconstruction Planned
July 23, 2008
Almost £1million of major works to reconstruct a busy highway in the county borough will take place throughout the summer.
The A4119 between Parc Erin and Coedely roundabouts will undergo reconstruction works from Monday July 28th and will take up to eight weeks to complete.
The £950,000 project is jointly funded by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council and the Welsh Assembly Government.
The scheme follows on from Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s cash injection of £2.1 million during 2007/8 to improve major highways in the county borough.
In order to facilitate the works and minimise traffic disruption the A4119 will be closed overnight between 7pm and 6am Mondays to Saturdays and between 7pm on Saturdays until 9am on Sundays.
It will also be necessary to close the road during the day on Sunday 3rd on Sunday 10th August. During the road closures all traffic will be diverted through Coedely.
For the duration of the works traffic will be running on temporary road surfaces during the day and a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place.
