Bus Pass Cards Rollout Programme
January 18, 2009
Concessionary bus pass users throughout the county borough will shortly receive a new concessionary smartcard that will replace their existing bus pass.
This re-issue is part of an all-Wales replacement programme, co-ordinated by the Welsh Assembly Government.
As over 48,000 bus passes are being replaced in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area from January 26th 2009, it is expected that this process will take almost three weeks to complete. However, during this period and until further notice, passholders are advised that their existing bus pass will continue to be valid for free travel.
In preparation for the replacement of the bus passes, the Council has been making every effort to ensure that the information that it holds on each passholder is correct and as up-to-date as possible.
However, if a passholder receives a new concessionary smartcard showing incorrect details, or in the name of a deceased relative, or is still waiting to receive their new smartcard towards the end of February, the Council would like to apologise for any distress and inconvenience that this could cause and would ask that the passholder contact 01443 494816 so that their details can be updated and for a new smartcard to be sent to them, as appropriate.
The new concessionary smartcards will have a different serial number to your existing bus pass but please note there is no need to contact the Council regarding this particular matter as this is a necessary change and your card will work with the new number.
