Fire at Tonypandy Community College

A Rhondda Cynon Taf Council spokesman said:
“The Council can confirm that there has been a fire overnight at Tonypandy Community College. Council staff are currently visiting the site to asses the extent of damage that has occurred and set the plan in motion to ensure that educational provision is restored as soon as possible.
Once the extent of the damage is known an update will be given and parents will be sent a letter later today in relation to next steps.
Our priority now is to work with the school staff and governors to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum. We are currently exploring a number of options to this end.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and will be the subject of a full investigation.”
